Event Description Musician Richard Miller presents a lecture entitled “African Timelines in Brazilian Music.” Immediately following the lecture there will be a free workshop for musicians to learn different Brazilian rhythms and how to use them in accompaniments and improvisation. Musicians visiting from New York: Richard Miller: 7 string guitar Jason Ennis: 7 string guitar Zé Maurício: percussion Michael Zsoldos: saxophone and flute Organized by Prof. Luci Moreira and sponsored by the Portuguese Club, the Department of Hispanic Studies, the Center for International Education, the Office of Institutional Diversity, the Office of Multicultural Student Program and Services, and the Department of Music. Note: A free concert on Brazilian Rhythms: Bossa Nova and Choro will be presented on Sunday March 24 at 5 pm in the Recital Hall of the Simons Center for the Arts. |
