Event Description Congratulations on your achievement as a May 2013 graduate of the College of Charleston. Graduating from college is a memorable milestone in your lifetime. The Office of Multicultural Student Programs and Services would like to honor your accomplishments at the third Annual Nia Rite of Passage Celebration. Our goal is to provide an intimate and personal acknowledgement of the respect held for your achievements and to mark the transition of their life at the College of Charleston to your next phase of studies and/or professional career. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Theodore S. Stern Student Center Ballroom. Nia, the Swahili term for purpose, means "to make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness." This program will honor not only the graduates themselves, but also those that helped them to get where they are today, including parents, family, and loved ones while reminding us "to whom much is given, much is required." |
