Event Description
Rabbi Anthony Holz (KKBE, Reform); Rabbi Ari Sytner (BSBI, Orthodox); Rabbi Adam J. Rosenbaum (Synagogue Emanu-El, Conservative)
Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. - Stern Center Ballroom (Fourth floor of the Stern Center)
Israel is continually in the hearts and minds of American Jewry. But the parameters of our support remains debatable. To what extent ought we take stances on Israeli governmental policies? Does the American Jewish leadership have particular responsibilities and particular constraints in addressing questions concerning Israel? And how vital is it for American-born Jewish institutions, such as the Reform and Conservative movements, to make a place for themselves in Israeli society?
Each semester, the Jewish Studies Program at the College of Charleston hosts a conversational forum led by the rabbis of our three local congregations. |

Admission Information This year, we welcome Rabbi Adam Rosenbaum, the new rabbi at Synagogue Emanu-El, as we bid farewell to Rabbi Robert Judd, who left Charleston for a pulpit at Congregation Kol Ami in Tampa, Florida. It is sad to have old friends leave, but good to have new ones continue their traditions. |
