Event Description In partnership with the U.S. Department of State, the Institute of International Education is pleased to announce the Young Leaders Dialogue (YLD) Charleston Forum, taking place from March 12 – 17, 2012. The YLD Charleston Forum will include high-level meetings with representatives from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Congress, among others, and will provide an opportunity to engage with leaders in local, state, and federal government, the military, private enterprises, the nonprofit sector, and academia. The purpose of the YLD Charleston Forum is twofold: First, group project teams will be able to share the scope and outcome of their projects with senior policymakers in Washington, DC. Second, an intensive three-day forum will be held in South Carolina in partnership with the College of Charleston and The Citadel aimed at addressing key issues related to transatlantic security, environmental issues, and diversity. The Charleston Forum will continue the dialogue on critical issues of the 21st century that began with the proceeding Young Leaders Dialogue Projects in the U.S, Prague, and Vienna.
